Words From Medical Director

During the last 25 years, the Washington DC area has seen a tremendous growth of Nepali immigrants. With the growth, we have also realized there is a need for healthcare for our uninsured vulnerable community members. Many cannot afford the high cost of healthcare, and the solution we have come up with is a free clinic.

We have been providing that kind of service through various outlets, such as health fairs, free clinics, day clinics etc, and we are hoping to see the Himalaya Free-clinic fill the void for this population. This clinic is as strong as its volunteers are, and we request our community members to back this effort from your local medical community.

Words From Executive Director

Himalaya Free Clinic is running to deliver access to healthcare for those who have no health insurance. We respect everyone with grace, dignity, and compassionate care. This clinic is an effort of a strong network of qualified, licensed, and trained professionals who can speak Nepali. For the last 17 years, I have been volunteering in free clinics in northern Virginia and I have witnessed that access to healthcare providers in one's own language can improve health outcomes. We welcome you and will provide our healthcare service of a high standard and in a professional manner. We also explore more avenues of services such as periodic health fairs.
